The Six Eight One Lounge
Leeds Bradford Airport currently promotes the Six Eight One Lounge, located within its extended terminal.
The lounge is designed for families, couples, solo travellers and business passengers who want a calmer and more comfortable place to wait before their flight. It includes general seating areas as well as a separate 65-seat quiet area intended for adults and business travellers.
What lounge entry includes
Admission includes seating, food, drinks and several facilities intended to make the wait before departure more comfortable.
Guests can use free Wi-Fi, flight information screens and lounge-only bathroom facilities. Food is provided through a chef-prepared buffet, while the complimentary bar includes beer, wine, cider and spirits. Tea, barista-style coffee and soft drinks are also included. Some cocktails may be available for an additional charge.
The quiet area
The lounge includes a dedicated 65-seat quiet area for adults and business travellers.
The quiet area includes floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the airfield, dedicated workstations and charging points. Guests can also use a private tea, coffee and soft-drinks area, with alcoholic drinks available through a table-service arrangement.
Food and buffet choices
The buffet changes throughout the day and is intended to provide both lighter choices and full meals.
Morning choices may include pastries, fresh fruit, cereals, bacon, sausages, eggs and hash browns. Later dishes can include options such as chicken chasseur, chilli con carne, BBQ chicken, Thai green curry and plant-based chilli. A salad bar and daily pasta option may also be available. The airport states that vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options are offered, although anyone with an allergy should confirm suitability directly with lounge staff.
Children and families
The main lounge is promoted as suitable for families as well as adults travelling alone.
Family seating areas are available within the lounge. During school holidays, a children's menu may also be provided with familiar meal choices. Families should check the booking conditions and current food options before travelling, particularly where allergies or special dietary requirements apply.
Entry times and length of stay
Guests can enter the lounge a maximum of three hours before their scheduled departure time.
Because many flights begin boarding around 30 minutes before departure, the airport advises that the realistic maximum lounge stay is usually around two and a half hours. Passengers remain responsible for checking the departure screens and reaching their gate on time.
Opening hours
The lounge operates different published opening hours depending on the season.
The published hours are 04:00 to 20:00 from April to October and 04:00 to 17:00 from October to March. These hours may change, so passengers should confirm availability for their exact travel date before booking.
Passes and membership access
Some lounge membership programmes can be used, although entry is subject to availability.
Priority Pass, DragonPass and LoungeKey members can request walk-up access. The airport also makes a limited number of membership access slots available for advance reservation. Holding a membership does not guarantee entry unless a suitable reservation has been confirmed.
Group booking restrictions
The lounge is not currently intended for large organised groups.
The maximum online booking size for the Six Eight One Lounge is six adults. The airport warns that separate reservations must not be combined to create a larger group, as entry may be refused on the day.
Is the lounge worth paying for?
The value of lounge access depends on how long you expect to wait and what you would otherwise buy inside the terminal.
It may make sense for passengers who want a quieter environment, expect to purchase a meal and several drinks, need somewhere to work or are travelling with family. It may provide less value if you plan to reach the airport close to boarding time or only want a quick coffee.
